Career

Marlene started her career in 1995 after she wrote and produced a movie called Now and Then. Her career then escalated, after she entered the television world in 1996 when she wrote several episodes of If These Walls Could Talk.

Arguably, her career took off in 2010 after she adapted Sara Shepard's book series, Pretty Little Liars, into a tv-series. She later became the executive producer, creator, and showrunner of the web-series based on the show called, Pretty Dirty Secrets in 2012.

She later tapped another of Sara Shepards book series called, The Perfectionists. She planned to turn it into a TV series, although, it was later adjusted it to be the second Pretty Little Liars spin-off. She affectionately named it, Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists - it was given a ten-episode order at "Freeform" during the beginning half of 2018, for a 2019 release date.

Also in 2017, it was announced that she would be the executive producer of The Heiresses starring Shay Mitchell on ABC.

During 2018, she was nominated as a judge for AIA National, a popular film challenge held annually.

Personal Life

In 2014, Marlene announced via Instagram that she was dating Shari Rosenthal. The couple later married in an unknown year.
